A Few Things That Are Inspiring Me Right Now...

Spring has sprung in the Panhandle...

Happy Monday! I woke up early this morning and all I wanted to do was go straight back to bed...but I pushed through (with help from John, who sweetly brought me a cup of tea in bed at 6:20 am as he headed out the door.) I am so glad that I got such an early start because I ended up having such a productive Monday! It feels so great to kick the week off strong. Before the day is over I thought I would share a few things that inspired me over the weekend...

  • Do you like love stories
  • I have been getting back into the practice of taking pictures in the past few months and this tutorial really helped me nail ISO, aperture, and shutter speed this week.
  • Tell me every aspect of Lindsey's wedding planning so far is not beautiful....
  • Gal Meets Glam is in Mexico and it looks amazing. (Lets be real--Julia always looks amazing) but her pics have been on point. So much color.
  • Have you guys heard of Blogilates? My friend Becky introduced me to the blog this week and I am super into it, I started the 4-week plan today. If you are looking for a way to tone up before bikini season than definitely check this out!

How was your Monday? Do you have any tips on how you jumpstart your week?

xoxo,

Emily

Sunday Links

Wow! What a weekend! I apologize for being so MIA of late but John has been out of town for a couple of weeks on detachment, and my dear friend Haley came to visit this weekend. It was so amazing to see her and I didn't want to spend one second our precious time at my computer. I hope to be back in action this week though. Until then, here are some things that I loved from around the web this week!

  • Love looks like this
  • I know the Superbowl is long over (GO PATS,) and many of you may have seen this video, but on the off chance that you haven't and you are from New England than you have to watch...right now. Hilarious.
  • I have been loving Emily Henderson's styling videos for Target, especially this one about designing your bedroom. She is awesome and has such great tips for attainable interior design.
  • Have you heard about the article "To Fall In Love With Anyone, Do This" ? John and I asked each other the 36 questions over Mexican a few weeks ago and we really felt like we learned some things about each other that we didn't know. Plus, it was fun! Great date night activity.
  • I have become mildly obsessed with ricotta (for no good reason other than that it is delicious) and I am hoping to make this for dessert later this week.

Hope you all had as much fun with the people you love this weekend as I did.

xoxo,

Emily

Happy Monday Friends! I haven't posted any fun links recently because I have been so busy putting together gift guides for Santa (as well as all you busy elves!) so here are a few links to peruse as you sip your coffee. I suggest sip, read, say a prayer, and get your Monday game face on.

10 sleeps till Christmas!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Some snapshots of our week...

Some snapshots of our week...

Happy Friday everyone! We had a busy but fun week, a highlight being watching John's softball team, the Goats, in the playoffs under the lights on wednesday night. Today we (Flynn included) are headed up to Albany, Georgia to visit one of our most favorite people, my godmother Libby, for the long weekend! John starts Primary next Monday (!!) so we were so grateful for an excuse to take a weekend away before he starts the grind. (Not sure what Primary is? Check out my crash course to Navy flight school here.) I am really looking forward to cooking out tomorrow night at the lake, and doing a little fishing. What are you getting up to over the long weekend?

Here are some neat links from around the web this week:

  • I have literally never seen anything like this.
  • Anthropologie has the cutest things for summer right now. Im currently digging these, these, and this
  • Military friends do you know about this? Talk about something fun to do on those unbearably hot days coming up!
  • Ok my fellow rosé lovers (I'm looking at you, Mom and Aunt Hopie,) here is your go-to guide for pink wine.

Have a great weekend, you guys!

xoxo,

Emily

{Pensacola Do} Weekend + Links

Beach.jpg

What did you guys get up to this weekend?! I finally made it home friday evening and just laid low with the Hubs as I was still feeling pretty crummy. Yesterday I worked and then met John and some friends across the park at the Pensacola Bay Brewery! The weather was so lovely, the perfect evening to sit outside and catch up with friends over a drink. From there we all headed to Dharma Blue for a delicious dinner, and then home to watch Captain Phillips. Not a bad saturday night for having just been laid so low by a serious cold..

Reunited with this beaut, and it was the best.

After church today we ran by Fresh Market to pick up a yummy picnic of rotisserie chicken, heirloom tomatoes, feta, and a few crusty baguettes to sandwich all that deliciousness, and then headed to the beach at Fort Pickens for the afternoon! Seriously, today was one of those great salty days, the days I dream of in the dark of winter, the days that leave you toasted and mellow but satisfied after being by the sea. Some days it is so hard to feel content in the moment, but not today.

Here are some links for everyone who isn't quite ready for the weekend to end or would enjoy a few more minutes of escapism.

  • We all know English and Spanish are the most commonly spoken languages in the US, but this map shows which languages come in third in every state...it's pretty interesting. Texas- Vietnamese? Who knew..
  • She has done it again! My seriously talented bestie Lindsey's DIY rug was featured on Wayfair this week! How cool is that?! I am itching to read her tutorial on Mac & Marlborough and make one for our screened in porch after we refinish the furniture.
  • Our wonderful wedding photographer, Leah Haydock, was featured on ShotKit last week! If you are at all an aspiring photog or even just a novice constantly trying to pick up tips and tricks (like me), ShotKick is a cool site that profiles photographers from all the around the world, and what they keep in their bags.
  • I love love LOVE having fresh flowers in the house, and am working on my arranging techniques. This tutorial looks fabulous, I can't wait to try my hand at it!
  • I just discovered the Hemsley + Hemsley blog this week and let me tell you--these girls rock.  I want to make every. single. recipe. Everything just looks so yummy and fresh, exactly what I have been craving lately.

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Peace be with you,

Emily
